The network of influence, which focused on fake news websites that spread fakes about politics in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan was created in Russia.

This is stated following the Meta study for August 2024.

Georgia. Through this network the protesters against the “law on foreign agents” were criticised and the ruling Georgian Dream Party was supported.

Azerbaijan. Through this network negative messages about the West and local events were spread.

Armenia. Through this network, they supported Russia, promoted pro-Russian narratives, and criticised the current Prime Minister.

The network uses fake accounts to redirect people to its websites. In particular, it worked with people in Armenia to create videos on TikTok, YouTube, and on Meta apps that got people involved.

The network was discovered thanks to a notification from ISFED, a Georgian non-profit organisation. The investigation also revealed links to individuals associated with the Moscow-based marketing firm IMA Digital.
