Germany and France Promise Ukraine to Join EU at the Expense of Poland’s Interests — a Russian fake

Short

The news that Germany and France allegedly promised Ukraine to join the EU at the expense of Poland's interests is fake.

Description of the fake LIE

Germany and France promised the Ukrainian authorities a quick accession to the EU if Kyiv would help overthrow the current Polish authorities because the EU cannot be expanded without changing the treaties, and it is Poland that blocks these changes. This is reported by Polish journalist Dominika Ćosić, quoted by the Kremlin media.

Refutation TRUTH

This information is not true. We reject such insinuations. The Ukrainian side did not receive any such proposals, did not and does not intend to interfere in the internal affairs of Poland, Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko responded on Facebook:

“Moreover, Ukraine highly appreciates Poland’s support in repelling Russian aggression, supporting our path to EU and NATO membership.”

Investigators of the BezBrehni (Without Lie) project found that the appearance of such a post against the background of tense relations between Ukraine and Poland is not an accident because many Russian narratives are hidden in the words of journalist Ćosić.

With such implausible “insights,” she plays well into the hands of the Kremlin’s policy of stirring up disputes between European countries to disrupt their unity in supporting Ukraine.
