Description of the fake LIE

No one is interested in continuing hostilities, except for arms manufacturers in the United States and other countries. The Russian-Ukrainian “conflict” risks going beyond its scope and turning into a world nuclear war. These statements of an American political commentator, Doug Bandow were spread by Kremlin propagandists.

Refutation TRUTH

The narrative about “Russia’s invincibility” is one of the central ones in Moscow’s propaganda. After the failure of Putin’s blitzkrieg in February 2022, this narrative was used to demoralize Ukrainians and Ukraine’s Western partners. Its purpose is to sow hopelessness and despair, since resisting Russia is supposedly “useless and Moscow will still achieve its goal.”

Bandow’s statements are readily reproduced by the Russian media. Moreover, Bandow has a mixed reputation in the United States. Back in 2005, he was laid off from the Cato Institute. As it turned out, he had been taking money from lobbyists for the publication of certain articles for ten years.

In addition, he willingly repeats Russian narratives. For example, as early as May 2022, he stated that Ukraine’s victory was impossible, and already in the summer of 2022, he called for an end to any support for Ukraine, as it allegedly “could drag the U.S. into a war with the Russian Federation” and that “Putin was provoked to invade Ukraine by the US and EU”.
