FAKE: 8 European countries sent humanitarian aid to the “DPR”

Description of the fake LIE

According to the Russian media, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Spain, France, and Switzerland sent 18 tons of humanitarian cargo to the “DPR.”

Refutation TRUTH

The listed countries consider the “DPR” and “LPR” to be puppet formations established by Russia, and not individual republics. Therefore, neither Austria nor Belgium nor other countries on the list officially sent humanitarian aid to them, StopFake journalists write.

The donation was collected by the pro-Russian organization SOS Donbass. It was registered in France in September 2022 and has aid collection points in eight European countries.

Representatives of the organization (mainly Russians living abroad) say that they “provide support to the victims of the civil war in the Donbas.”

Representatives of SOS Donbass regularly hold anti-Ukrainian rallies in France, which are then covered by propaganda media.

The activities of such organizations are propagandistic in nature because according to the norms of international humanitarian law, the states through which humanitarian assistance will move and to which it is intended must grant permission to receive humanitarian assistance.
