Description of the fake LIE
The Kremlin media spread information that a street in Kyiv named after the composer Peter Tchaikovsky will be renamed in honour of Victoria Nuland, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. The corresponding decision was allegedly adopted by Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of the capital.
Refutation TRUTH
The Law of Ukraine on Geographical Names provides only for the posthumous commemoration of persons in toponymy. Such renaming is impossible because it contradicts Ukrainian legislation.
As evidence, the enemy spreads the image of Klitschko’s alleged decision to rename the street. In fact, the “document” has a number of inaccuracies: the false signature of the mayor’s last name and some paragraphs are paraphrased.
Why does the enemy spread such a fake? To create the impression of dependence and subordination of Ukraine to the United States of America.
