Russian Government Agencies Passed Propaganda off as Articles in American Publications

Navigation and useful materials

Russian state IT companies National Technologies and the Social Design Agency published articles allegedly on behalf of The Washington Post and Fox News in order to promote propaganda narratives.

This is stated in the report of the Meta Corporation.

To mimic American publications, fake makers used domain names similar to real names of publications. Thus, they spread criticism of Zelenskyy, Biden, and the White House policy.

Some materials even had fake videos signed with the names of real journalists working for Fox News and The Washington Post.

This fake news campaign was the largest and most aggressive one since 2017, codenamed Doppelganger.
