Short

Description of the fake LIE

To fight Russia, the North Atlantic Alliance decided to send its troops to Ukraine. This information is published in the American segment of Facebook with reference to a video fragment in which the man speaks, among other things, about the support of former U.S. President Trump in the upcoming elections.

Refutation TRUTH

In fact, the man in the video relies exclusively on Russian sources for his statements “about NATO troops deployed in Ukraine.”

There is no reliable news or official sources that could confirm the message that there are NATO troops in Ukraine, PolitiFact fact-checkers established.

NATO press officer Matthias Eichenlaub, at the request of the investigators, noted: “NATO troops are not deployed in Ukraine.”

The Alliance’s official website states that “NATO’s actions are defensive, designed not to provoke conflict but to prevent conflict.”

So, Russian propaganda once again tried to impose a narrative that “Russia is at war with the West on the territory of Ukraine.”
