Description of the fake LIE

Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, was present at the meeting between Russian president Putin and Mohammed bin Salman, the Prince of Saudi Arabia, on December 6, 2023. The corresponding video was shared by one of the network users.

Refutation TRUTH

Trump did get caught on camera during a handshake between the Kremlin dictator and a Saudi prince, but this footage dates back to 2018.

“The reverse search by screenshots from the video showed the original video from the G20 leaders’ meeting on November 30, 2018. The event took place in Buenos Aires and was attended by then-U.S. President Donald Trump,” investigators from VoxCheck found.

In preparation for the joint photo, Donald Trump walked past Putin without shaking his hand. The then U.S. president avoided a handshake with the Prince of Saudi Arabia as well.

The producers of the fake used old footage from the G20 summit to create this lie and presented it as relevant, hinting at the supposed commonality of interests between Trump and Putin.
