Description of the fake LIE

Professional American servicemen are killed in the war in Ukraine. To hide this, the Pentagon uses the statistics of suicides among the military because the number of such suicides has increased by 25%, according to Russian media.

Refutation TRUTH

The suicide rate among U.S. Army personnel has indeed increased by 25% compared to the data for the first three months of 2022. But these data have been growing in general over the past decade, StopFake fact-checkers noted.

Thus, in the second quarter of 2021, before the beginning of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, 97 suicides were recorded; this is even more than now.

Boston University scientist Thomas Suitt believes that this level of suicide is caused by a variety of factors, including a high tendency to injury, stress, military culture and heavy training of a soldier, constant access to weapons and difficulties in reintegrating into civilian life.

Analysts also attribute the increase in the number of suicides among the military in the United States to the lack of social ties.

At the same time, the U.S. Department of Defense notes that the increase in suicides is observed not only in the Armed Forces.

There is no evidence that the Americans hide the deaths of their servicemen in Ukraine in this way because this is an enemy fiction.
