Description of the fake LIE

During his visit to Kyiv, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin persuaded Ukraine to exchange Abrams tanks for German Leopard tanks: 28 German units were promised to Ukraine in exchange for seven American ones. Continued use of Abrams in Ukraine can cause serious reputational losses to equipment. This statement is spread by Kremlin propagandists.

Refutation TRUTH

Austin did not offer anything of the kind when visiting the capital of Ukraine because no leading world media wrote about such a context of negotiations, Detector Media fact-checkers found out:

“The Pentagon chief announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine worth USD 100 mln, but there were no concerns about the loss of the image of Abrams tanks as a result of unsuccessful actions of Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield.”

In addition, Austin assured that the U.S. “along with our allies and partners, will continue to support Ukraine’s urgent battlefield needs and long-term defense requirements.”
