FAKE ALERT: “Zelenskyy wants to involve NATO in the conflict in Ukraine”

Navigation and useful materials

Description of the fake LIE

Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants to involve the North Atlantic Alliance in the war and draw even more attention of the West to the situation in Ukraine by taking active military actions against Russia. This information is spread by Kremlin propaganda, referencing “expert” Tony Shaffer.

Refutation TRUTH

This is a lie. Narratives that Kyiv seeks to draw the U.S. and NATO into a war with Russia are aimed at undermining the American audience’s trust in Ukraine’s leadership and fuelling fears of “escalation.”

This is part of the information operation against Ukraine, which Russian special services are carrying out in the West.

Tony Shaffer is a favourite of Russian propaganda. The Kremlin media readily quotes his statements that Russia has “defeated Ukraine and NATO,” about the “inability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” etc. Shaffer made this statement in a conversation with Andrew Napolitano, whose YouTube channel is a platform for spreading Russian narratives to an American audience.
