FAKE ALERT: Zelenskyy blamed U.S. defence enterprises for corruption and kickbacks

Description of the fake LIE

70% of American aid allocated to Ukraine remains in America at defence enterprises. This indicates only one thing: there are corruption and kickbacks. Pro-Kremlin resources spread such a statement by the President of Ukraine.

Refutation TRUTH

In fact, President Zelenskyy at a press conference in Riga mentioned that a significant amount allocated for military assistance to Ukraine remains within U.S. defence enterprises, but he did not say anything about “corruption and kickbacks.”

“More than 70% remains in the United States. The people who helped us know this. Weapons are not free, and U.S. enterprises received this money.”

In turn, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stressed that up to 90% of the funds intended for Kyiv as assistance were spent inside the United States to create new weapons or replace weapons sent to Ukraine from American stocks; this is an absolutely legal and transparent process.
