FAKE ALERT: “Western weapons provided to Ukraine are neutralized by the Russian army”

Navigation and useful materials

Description of the fake LIE

The Russian army neutralizes all Western weapons supplied to Ukraine. The same fate awaits F-16 fighters in contact with Russian air defence. This comment, made by the American political scientist John Mearsheimer, was reproduced by pro-Kremlin resources.

Refutation TRUTH

The supply of Western weapons and military equipment significantly strengthens the Defence forces of Ukraine, which cause losses to the Russian army. Although the loss of weapons and equipment is indeed present during any war, the statement that “all Western weapons are neutralized by the Russian army” is a lie directed mainly at the Western audience.

The purpose of such informational throws is to confirm the opinion about the alleged “superiority of Russian weapons over Western weapons” and to discredit the support of Ukraine from the partner states.

As for Russian air defence, it is incapable of preventing drone strikes on military targets, even on its own territory. Instead, Ukrainian pilots prepared and are preparing during training on F-16 fighters to counter Russian air defence.

By the way, the “political scientist” Mearsheimer regularly promotes Russian narratives, in particular those related to the alleged “provocation of Russia by the NATO in Ukraine.”
