FAKE ALERT: The United States allows Ukraine to use HIMARS to strike Russia

Description of the fake LIE

The U.S. allowed Ukraine to use HIMARS missiles for strikes on Russia, according to Russian media with reference to Bridget Brink, the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine.

Refutation TRUTH

Brink did not make such a statement; it was invented by propagandists of Strana.ua, who subsequently published a refutation, StopFake journalists noted.

To create the fake, the ambassador’s words for June 2022 were used: back then, the United States provided Ukraine with a package of military assistance, which included ammunition for the HIMARS system:

“This will help Ukrainian forces to deliver more accurate strikes and [shoot] to a greater distance. So the Ukrainian troops will decide what distance to shoot.”

However, these missiles could hit targets at a distance of up to 70 km, that is, there were no strikes on the territory of Russia.
