FAKE ALERT: “The U.S. is scared about Putin’s reaction to the offence in Kursk oblast”

Description of the fake LIE

The chances of resolving the conflict through negotiations have significantly decreased after the invasion of the Armed Forces of the Kursk oblast. Washington is scared and has returned to the idea of creating a government in exile, somewhere near Lviv. This statement of Colonel Douglas Macgregor, a former Pentagon adviser, was spread by Kremlin propaganda sources.

Refutation TRUTH

Macgregor’s statements are false narratives written by the Kremlin to legitimise its own crimes and spread them to Ukrainian and Western audiences, allegedly on behalf of “Western experts.”

In 2014, this Kremlin propaganda mouthpiece justified the annexation of Crimea and the occupation of Donbas. And after a full-scale invasion, he predicted the quick defeat of Ukraine, which eloquently testifies not only to his views, but also to the quality of his “expertise”.

The official position of the U.S. and the EU has not changed since the beginning of the Armed Forces operation in Kursk oblast – Ukraine has the right to defend itself at its own discretion:

“Decisions about how Ukraine conducts its military operations are decisions made by Ukraine,” emphasised Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State.

For his part, Peter Stano, lead spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Commission, noted that “the EU continues to fully support Ukraine’s legal right to protection from Russian aggression and its efforts to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
