Description of the fake LIE

The International Monetary Fund requires Ukraine to raise tariffs on gas and electricity, as well as raise taxes by 4-5%. This is reported by Russian Telegram channels.

Refutation TRUTH

The latest updates on the IMF Memorandum with Ukraine were published on December 11, 2023.

It does not mention raising prices for gas, electricity, raising taxes or VAT, VoxCheck journalists said.

On August 19, 2022, President of Ukraine Zelenskyy signed a law establishing a moratorium on tariff increases in the natural gas market and in the heating sector. This prohibition will be valid for the duration of martial law in Ukraine and 6 months after it is lifted.
