FAKE ALERT: “Polish schools have an extremely negative attitude towards children from Ukraine”

Navigation and useful materials

Description of the fake LIE

Polish schoolchildren would rather not study with Ukrainian children because of their low academic performance and bad behaviour. Parents are ready to pay bribes to the principals of local schools to avoid teaching their children in mixed classes where there are Ukrainians. This fake news is spread by Russian propagandists, referencing the BBC story on Telegram channels and the X social network.

Refutation TRUTH

The British BBC has absolutely nothing to do with the “plot” spread by fake media; there is no video on such a topic both on the broadcaster’s official website and on its social media pages.

As was noted by Ukrinform fact-checkers, recently all BBC videos in YouTube Shorts have been marked with information about when they were publicised. However, the video circulated by propagandists, does not have a publication date.

“The frame with which the video begins has appeared on the network back in 2021, that is, before the Russian full-scale invasion in Ukraine. It can be found on foreign websites,” the investigators wrote.

In general, the video series is accompanied by a selection of shots with children and allegedly photos of Polish schools, which can be found in free access.

So, the propagandists created this fake with the help of photos and videos found on the Internet, and some of them do not concern Ukraine at all. The video has been made with the purpose of harming Ukrainian-Polish relations.
