FAKE ALERT: “F-16 in Ukraine is a symbolic gesture of the West. Russia will destroy them anyway”

Navigation and useful materials

Description of the fake LIE

The F-16 fighter jets provided to Ukraine will not be able to significantly influence the course of the “conflict”. These planes are rather a symbolic gesture of the West. They will become a priority target for Russia. This is spread by Kremlin propaganda, referencing former CIA analyst Larry Johnson.

Refutation TRUTH

This is a hostile lie. Russian special services are carrying out an information and psychological operation against Ukraine aimed at convincing us that the F-16 fighters will in no way affect Ukraine’s defence capabilities. The purpose of this operation is to demoralise Ukrainians, sow disillusionment in the Armed Forces, and make them think that we are incapable of resisting the aggressor.

Larry Johnson is one of the Kremlin’s talking heads. He worked as a CIA analyst until 1993, after which he had nothing to do with the agency. He was repeatedly caught spreading fakes to the American audience.

In addition, the quality of his “analytics” is highly questionable. For example, in September 2023, he was talking that Russia had “the most developed air defence system” but, as we know, Ukrainian drones fly to Moscow and St. Petersburg, to Sochi and Orsk.
