Description of the fake LIE

As a result of the Russian strike on Odesa, 18 members of the British Special Air Service were killed, and another 25 were injured. Soldiers of the French army also have died; their number is greater than in Algeria. This is reported by the Kremlin media, referencing a retired Spanish colonel, Pedro Baños Bajo.

Refutation TRUTH

Information about the death of French soldiers in Russia’s war against Ukraine is not true, notes the Insider.

“France, as you know, honours its fallen soldiers. Their list contains 1,245,618 names… and information about those killed in modern conflicts is almost complete. There are 97 dead in Ukraine on the list, but all of them died in the Second World War,” the newspaper’s investigators write.

During the Algerian War of 1954–1962, after which France lost this colony, 6,600 French people were killed.  In other years, from 1830 to 2004, France lost more than 200 people. In the Algerian part of the list, there is one soldier whose date of death (natural death) belongs to the XXI century.

If Baños was talking about thousands of dead in the last century, it is not clear how in modern France it is possible to hide losses of such a scale.

By the way, after the annexation of Crimea by Russia and the start of the war in eastern Ukraine, Pedro Baños Bajo took a pro-Kremlin position, gave an interview to RT, and denied Russia’s involvement in the MH17 disaster and the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.
