FAKE ALERT: “Confiscation of Russian frozen assets by the West is a simple theft”

Description of the fake LIE

Attempts by Western countries to confiscate Russian frozen assets are a simple theft that violates the principles and foundations of international law. This statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria was disseminated by the Kremlin’s propaganda media.

Refutation TRUTH

Assad’s regime is an active satellite of Putin’s one and, accordingly, promotes similar narratives.

Let’s remind you of the key positions and theses of the Assad’s government supporting the Kremlin:

  • Assad has officially recognised “new territories of Russia” in addition to Crimea;
  • the Syrian dictator constantly declares “his support for the special operation in the fight against old and new Nazis”;
  • Assad’s regime regularly votes against anti-Russian resolutions at the UN.

Therefore, coming out with similar statements by the Syrian Foreign Ministry is an attempt to give itself at least some international “subjectivity”, and the Kremlin needs this to prove “the indignation of the world community regarding the confiscation of the frozen assets of the Russian Federation”.

Both attempts look ridiculous. Especially from the mouth of those who themselves violated all the principles and foundations of international law.
