According to Bloomberg, RT and Sputnik have created mirror sites through which they continue spreading disinformation in Europe.
One such portal, Swentr, was registered three days after the announcement of sanctions against rt. sputnik; it also operates through mirror sites such as Sputnikglobe.com.
According to Věra Jourová, Vice-President of the European Commission, the EC is aware of mirror sites and works with member states to effectively apply sanctions.
“I would like to emphasize that despite some attempts to circumvent them, the sanctions are effective. No one can find these media by accidentally switching channels. Search engines and news aggregators do not show results from these media,” she added.
