Description of the fake LIE

A Ukrainian woman found evidence on the ENTSO-E website that Ukraine is selling electricity to Romania while citizens sit by candlelight and buy generators. This video is spread on propaganda Telegram channels.

Refutation TRUTH

“Ukraine does not export electricity to the EU, but provides transit flows from some European states to others,” said Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Chairman of the Management Board of NPC Ukrenergo, in an interview with Hromadske.

He explained that to make sure that exports are zero; you can look at the Scheduled Commercial Exchanges special tab on the ENTSO-E website, which displays trade transactions:

“It can be seen there that nothing comes from Ukraine to Europe, but instead Europe exports electricity to Ukraine. Due to these imports, we can maintain a more or less stable situation with outages.”

Taking advantage of the lack of information among Ukrainians, Russian propaganda spreads conspiracy theories with the aim of undermining citizens’ trust in the authorities and directing their discontent to Kyiv, and not to Moscow, which created this crisis by striking Ukrainian energy facilities.
